Christopher Kane’s Fall Campaign Brings Back Bag Lady Chic
For Christopher Kane‘s Fall 2016 campaign, the British designer called on model Jamie Bochert to realize his vision of an eccentric, elegant hoarder. Alasdair McLellen photographed the model for the ads, which Kane has titled ‘Lost and Found.’ Initially inspired by early Cecil Beaton portraiture and classic BBC documentaries, this campaign evokes a feel of bag lady chic, plastic bonnet and fur stole included!
“Jamie has a great spirit, and that is the spirit of the Christopher Kane girl we are always trying to evoke in what we do,” said the designer in a statement. “It’s an attitude and atmosphere the we focus on, and that was important for the campaign. Here, she’s a glamorous hoarder, a recluse creating her own world; never derivative and always herself.”
