AN INTERVIEW WITH SARAH DAMICHI
With over 15 years experience in the skin care, beauty, hair and makeup industries, and more than 20 years of experience in the Australian and international fashion arena’s, HMUA Sarah Damichi offers a unique perspective and elevated insight into the world of beauty hair and makeup.
Following an extensive period of working as a fashion model in Japan and America, Sarah returned to Australia in 2000 to complete the internationally recognised Diploma for Skin Care and Beauty from Itec and Cidesco International. After many years working as a successful skin care and beauty professional, Sarah turned her focus towards her passion, hair & makeup artistry.
With knowledge gained through her time as a qualified aesthetician and many years in the field of modeling, Sarah’s expertise and professionalism quickly gained her respect within the makeup and hair industry. The passion Sarah has for all areas of her career combined with the desire to expand her knowledge and experience within the industry, has resulted in such posts as: Makeup and Beauty writer for acclaimed fashion magazine Pages Online, Makeup beauty and hair teacher for The Beauty Tutor and The look Academy, Director of Makeup and the face of Rimmel for X Factor Australia. As well as this Sarah has worked with some of the biggest and most respected names in TV, Film, Advertising campaigns,Beauty, fashion and magazine editorials. Sarah currently works and lives in Dubai UAE.
What is your favourite location in the world your job has taken you?
Bali (Indonesia) and the cliff tops of Oman.
What elements are needed for your idea of the perfect shot/perfect production?
All the elements of a production are equally important to me including Photography, Lighting, Location, Model, Styling, Hair and makeup. It’s the synergy of elements that create amazing pictures. A good sense of humor and attitude help too.
If you weren’t in this field, what career could you see yourself pursuing?
Anything to do with travel- Maybe a presenter for a travel and lifestyle program or food. Photography is also another interest.
If you could put together an on set Dream Team including yourself, the team and magazine to feature in.. Who would they be?
Dream team- Photography- Mert and Alas and Marcus Piggott, model- Kate Moss, Magazine- Italian Vogue, Hair- Guido Palou, Stylist- Grace Coddington, Makeup- Me.

With my Family and friends.
