SIGNOR SASSI
For more than 40 years, Signor Sassi has been one of the most recognisable names in Italian dining. Since opening beside Harrods in London's Knightsbridge in 1984, the restaurant has earned an international reputation for exceptional cuisine, refined hospitality and an atmosphere that has attracted everyone from royalty and celebrities to loyal guests who have returned generation after generation.
Now, for the first time in the brand's history, Signor Sassi has come home.
This summer, the iconic restaurant has launched Signor Sassi Mare, an exclusive seasonal residency in Porto Cervo, Sardinia, bringing its celebrated dining experience back to the country that first inspired its story. More than simply opening a new restaurant, the move marks a full-circle moment for a brand whose identity has always been deeply rooted in Italian culture, family and hospitality.
Located on the glamorous Costa Smeralda, Signor Sassi Mare overlooks Porto Cervo's world-famous marina, where superyachts line the waterfront against a backdrop of crystal-clear Mediterranean waters. The setting captures everything that has made Sardinia one of Europe's most sought-after summer destinations—effortless elegance, breathtaking scenery and a slower rhythm of life centred around exceptional food and unforgettable company.
The menu pays tribute to the island's rich coastal heritage through a dedicated Pescheria, showcasing the freshest daily seafood sourced from local markets and prepared to each guest's preference. Alongside beautifully presented crudo, oysters, seafood towers and premium caviar, diners can enjoy many of the dishes that have made Signor Sassi famous around the world, including its signature lobster linguine, black squid ink spaghetti, seafood risotto and timeless Italian classics.
Created exclusively for Porto Cervo, the new Yacht Sushi menu introduces a contemporary dimension inspired by the destination's international yachting culture. Combining Japanese precision with Mediterranean flavours, the concept reflects the cosmopolitan character of Costa Smeralda while complementing the restaurant's unmistakably Italian identity.
Every detail has been designed to capture the spirit of an authentic Italian summer. Long lunches that stretch into the afternoon. Sunset aperitivos overlooking the marina. Elegant dinners beneath the stars where conversation flows as effortlessly as the wine. It's a destination where dining becomes less about the meal itself and more about embracing the lifestyle that surrounds it.
Over the years, Signor Sassi has expanded its presence to cities including Dubai, Riyadh, Doha and Miami, becoming one of the world's most recognised Italian restaurant brands. Yet despite its international success, its newest opening feels like a return to its origins—a celebration of the country, cuisine and culture that shaped its identity from the very beginning.
More than a seasonal restaurant, Signor Sassi Mare represents the next chapter in the story of one of the world's most iconic Italian dining institutions. It is where four decades of heritage meet the timeless beauty of Sardinia, creating an experience that is as much about place as it is about exceptional food.
For those seeking the essence of an Italian summer, there may be no better place to begin.
