The Giving Movement
In a city built on ambition, reinvention and impossible ideas brought to life, The Giving Movement feels entirely of its place.
Born in Dubai in 2020, the homegrown label arrived at a moment when fashion was beginning to confront its contradictions, excess consumption, environmental impact and the growing disconnect between style and substance. What emerged instead was a new kind of luxury: elevated essentials rooted in purpose.

At the centre of the brand is a simple but powerful proposition, clothing that gives back.
What began as a contemporary athleisure label quickly evolved into one of the Middle East’s most recognisable fashion success stories. The Giving Movement fused minimalist streetwear with a clear social mission, embedding charity and sustainability into the DNA of every collection. Hoodies, oversized sets and monochromatic staples became signatures, worn not only for their aesthetic but for what they represented: conscious consumption with regional identity.
Unlike many global brands manufacturing elsewhere, The Giving Movement made a deliberate decision to keep its operations close to home. Everything — from sourcing to production, is rooted in the UAE, reinforcing its commitment to local craftsmanship, regional industry and community-led growth.
The brand was founded by Dominic Nowell-Barnes, who moved to the UAE in 2017 and quickly recognised an opportunity to challenge the traditional fashion model. Witnessing the environmental impact and unethical practices embedded within the industry, he envisioned a disruptive alternative — one where sustainable apparel could exist at scale without compromising design, quality or accessibility.

That vision became The Giving Movement.
Since launch, the company has built a loyal following across the Gulf and beyond, driven by a generation increasingly drawn to brands with cultural relevance and measurable impact. Its philosophy extends beyond sustainability alone; giving back remains central to the business model, with proceeds supporting charitable initiatives and communities in need.
Then, the brand entered a new chapter.
In late 2025, The Giving Movement appointed Rania Masri El Khatib as Chief Executive Officer, signalling an ambitious era of regional and international expansion. One of the Middle East’s most respected retail strategists, Masri El Khatib brings more than two decades of experience shaping the luxury and fashion landscape, including her pivotal role in launching Level Shoes for Chalhoub Group.

Her appointment marks a strategic shift from startup success story to global contender.
Under her leadership, the focus will be on strengthening operational infrastructure while scaling the brand’s presence internationally — taking a proudly UAE-born concept onto the world stage. Yet even as it grows, the essence of The Giving Movement remains deeply tied to Dubai itself: a city where innovation and identity constantly intersect.
In many ways, The Giving Movement reflects the modern UAE, ambitious, globally minded and increasingly conscious of the future it wants to create.
Fashion may be crowded with labels promising purpose, but few have managed to build community, sustainability and cultural relevance into a brand quite as seamlessly.
The Giving Movement did it from Dubai first.
