Bowen Back At It Again!
Widely known for her vibrant, multi-colored resin paintings, the prominent British abstract artist, Nat Bowen, recently announced the launch of her exclusive Diamond collection. AND IT’S POPPING!
Each painting from the latest collection includes 1,000 carats of genuine crushed diamonds suspended in highly pigmented resin. These paintings pay homage to extraordinary diamonds that have captivated us for years for their eccentric quality and charm.
Available to acquire and viewing through private appointment, each piece from the exclusive diamond collection has its own origin story that was brought to life by Nat Bowen.
The Black Diamond is made from one hundred layers of resin representing the facets of a diamond and painted using 4.5 billion years old meteorite dust, amorphous carbon, and graphite powder. The center contains 1,000 carats of crushed genuine black diamond set in resin.
The origin of the black diamond remains a mystery, but one theory is that they crashed to earth from space. The diamond dust from which they are formed may have been released when a star exploded in a supernova billions of years ago which then over time became embedded in asteroids. Black diamonds represent strength and power with diamond being the strongest material known to man.
The Pink Diamond was inspired by the internally flawless, exceptionally rare ‘Spirit of the Rose’ pink diamond sold in 2020 at Sotheby’s which was the largest diamond of its color to ever appear at auction. The ‘Pink Diamond’ contains natural pink rose petal pigment and 1,000 carats of genuine pink diamond particles set within 69 layers of resin to echo the 69 facets of the ‘Spirit of the Rose’ diamond. The artwork is framed with Nat Bowen’s signature gold mirror.
Stay tuned for new additions to the Diamond Collection by Nat Bowen!
