Celebrating a Decade of Fashion: Magda Butrym Launches "Decade of The Rose" Campaign

Warsaw, October 10, 2024 – Magda Butrym, a name synonymous with contemporary femininity, has officially launched her latest campaign, "Decade of The Rose," marking ten transformative years in the fashion industry. This visually arresting campaign celebrates the brand’s unique fusion of romantic aesthetics, Slavic heritage, and modern empowerment, all set against the enchanting backdrop of Warsaw.

"Decade of The Rose" offers a captivating exploration of femininity through a series of striking visuals that juxtapose intimate, shadowy settings with the bold confidence of the Magda Butrym woman. The campaign features renowned supermodel Malgosia Bela, whose presence embodies the brand’s ethos of power, independence, and timeless elegance. Bela’s role is not only a nod to her iconic status but also a reflection of the sophisticated and resilient femininity that Magda Butrym champions.

The collection itself features an array of garments that reflect a delicate balance between softness and assertiveness, including ink-black leather jackets, structured coats, and petal-shaped red dresses. Central to the campaign is the rose motif, a symbol of beauty and resilience that resonates throughout the collection. The imagery captures a compelling duality—dark, cinematic tones are softened by elements of grace and romanticism.

Butrym’s work transcends mere fashion; it is a rich narrative woven from cultural symbols and romantic allure. The campaign’s visuals evoke a dream-like quality, celebrating the allure and mystery of femininity while infusing Slavic visual codes. From floral headscarves to handmade lace from Koniaków, each piece in the collection seamlessly integrates traditional craftsmanship with contemporary design.

Warsaw, the city that ignited Butrym’s creative journey, plays a pivotal role in this campaign. Its blend of historical and modern influences mirrors the contrasts found in the collection. The cinematic streets of Warsaw, with their rich cultural backdrop, offer a fitting canvas for the brand’s celebration of femininity, resilience, and artistry.

Enhancing the campaign's emotional depth is its soundtrack, featuring "Szał niebieskich ciał" (Frenzy of The Celestial Bodies) by the legendary Polish rock band Maanam, sung by the iconic Kora. This track not only enriches the visual experience but also pays tribute to Poland’s musical heritage, echoing the passion and intensity of the campaign.

The creative team behind "Decade of The Rose" includes Magda Butrym as Creative Director, with photography by Vitali Gelwich and styling by Jakob Kjelgaard. Hair and makeup were expertly handled by Claire Grech and Min Kim, respectively, while set design was orchestrated by Anna Szczęsny. The campaign is a collaborative effort that showcases the talents of various artists, emphasizing the brand's commitment to creative innovation.

As Magda Butrym reflects on her decade-long journey, she remains focused on empowering women through fashion. "I don’t want to define women. I want to empower them. I want us all to feel comfortable in our own skin, happy, powerful, and confident. We should all be our own muses," she states.

The "Decade of The Rose" campaign is more than just a celebration of a milestone; it is an invitation to embrace femininity in all its forms, rooted in cultural heritage and modern empowerment.
